Opinion about Final Project

Almost in every university has regulation for each student to make final project before they graduate from the university. In my opinion, final project isn’t important and should be changed with another useful option. A University can arrange individual test to check student’s ability after 4 years learning their subject. In my campus especially, there are many students who had already join 8 semesters but they still lack of skill  in several subjects such as writing, grammar, and speaking. So, why students should make final project while their ability is still low and they need more learning? Moreover in this modern era, there are many places which provide final project (thesis) service. Student just asks what will the servicer should write about and pay the cost of it. Without wait too long and make a research, a student can get a thesis easily. I think it can be a kind of counterfeiting document, right? I think university should change their requirement for graduate student with another useful and important point for their student

Opinion about low-cost car

I disagree with government’s police that allow the selling of low-cost car. In development country like Indonesia, there are so many car in the road but less of infrastructure. The road is limited and narrow and for some big cities like Jakarta, traffic jamming always happen because of so many car. If many people buy the low-cost car, the number of traffic jamming will increased than before and decrease the quality of work and effective time, and waste more time just to waiting the car moving. The other problem is, the price of gas will increase. Why? Because if many people buy low cost car and they need gas for their vehicle, meanwhile the number of gas is limited. The substance to make a real gas can’t recover quickly. The poor people will be the victim of increasing the price of gas.

Short Story Analysis

SHORT STORY ANALYSIS

“MY OEDIPUS COMPLEX” by FRANK O’CONNOR

Larry as the major character of short story “MY OEDIPUS COMPLEX” is an ordinary boy like another little boy. All of his behavior show that he is a child who doesn’t know much about live and adult’s mind. Larry is just 5 years old so we can’t call as odd things if he always does childishness thing. In this discussion, I will try to analyze one of Larry’s characterizations especially his “childish” which furthermore it brings up another child behavior.  Almost in every part of the story, Larry’s character is described clearly trough his perception and attitude.

The first reason why i conclude if Larry is a childish boy is because he is always negative thinking with his entire father’s do when father beside his mom. We can see when he pretends that every time mother and father have a conversation, he thinks father steals all mother’s affection and attention. However, father and mother just talk about common thing, but Larry thinks it just the way for father gets closer with mother.

“Naturally, I disliked her looking anxious, because it destroyed her good looks, so I interrupted him”. (line 55)

“several times I tried to change the subject without success”. (Line 90)

The second reason is because he can’t differentiate whether this one is true and the other is wrong. One day he said to his mother that he will marry her when he grows up without think anything that will be happened in the future. He doesn’t know if a child is doesn’t allowed to marry one of member of a family because when they married and have a children, sometimes the baby got physical defect.

“I’m going to marry you” (line 270)

“… Because we’re going to have lots and lots of babies …” (line 280)

Then Larry’s childish also develops into another behavior such as jealous and stubborn. I say it is develop because jealous and stubborn appear after Larry jealous with his father.

A quite similar with similar explanation , the evidence if Larry is jealous when he disturbed father and mother’s conversation, besides when father made a cup of tea for mother and none for him and then he drank the tea it all.

“I wanted to be treated as an equal in my own home … I drank it all and left none for her” (line 150)

Evidence if Larry becomes jealous when mother didn’t allow Larry to sleep beside her, but one day he saw mother allowed father to sleep beside her on mother’s bed. Moreover Larry kicked father to make him move from the bed.

“Full of spite, I gave father a kick ..” (line 200)

Stubborn is also one behavior which is appeared because of larry’s childish. Children will do same thing/activity over and over when they feel happy and comfort with it, and larry do it! Larry feels comfort everytime when he falls asleep on mother’s bed. After father comes back from war, larry still do the same thing when father in a war. After sew around from a window in the attic, he would come to mother’s bed and do the same things no matter there’s a father was sleeping on it. Actually mother have warned Larry for don’t come again to her bed because it will disturb father’s sleep. Larry already comforts with his habitual activity in the morning so it makes him stubborn and doesn’t hear mother’s warning.

“At last I could stand it no longer. I went into next room” (line 185)

In additional, larry also didn’t care with mother’s warn when Larry disturbed their conversation many times just to make them annoyed.

“…so I attached no importance to it and went on talking” (line 60)

 In conclusion, in my perception one characterization of one character of person can develop into two or more than 3 other characters.

Topic : Free (musician)

Raden Mas Alditsa Sadega Kusumodipuro or wellknown as Dochi is a guitarist of pop punk band Peewee Gaskins. As first child of Kusumodipuro’s family, he was born at Yogyakarta, Dec 26^th 1985. He got his nick name as “dochi” since he was on Junior high school. Most of his friends usally told their problem about love to him and finally they called Ditsa as” Dochi” ( dokter cinta / Doctor of love). Basicly he was a drummer, but when he fell in love with a girl in junior high school, the girl changed his hobby as a guitarist. Dochi who graduated as the Master of Communication started his career from 2004 as a guitarist of The Side Project band and additional guitarist of Killing me Inside band. At 2007 he made his own band with 4 guys, Sansan, Ayi, Omo and Aldi named Peewee Gaskins. At the first career, Dochi and his friend should be patient because they had so many problems especially when they held a concert. A group of people who hate this band (Anti Peewee Gaskins /APWG) usually came and made trouble / violence during the concert. Finally, at 2011 Dochi could bring his band go International successfully.  Besides as the leader of Pee Wee Gaskins, Dochi also released his business such as restaurant and distro clothing at Jakarta.

Topic : English Language

English language is a very popular and well known language which is used for International Language. Almost every country all of the world know and use this language for several occasions. In every part of communication in International occasions (occasion which is followed by many countries) will use English as the major language. As we know English isn’t only used by English society as their national language but also several country such as USA, Singapore, Australia, and many others. However, although many countries use English as their language, every country has differences when they speak in English, especially the accent.

Topic : President

President is the number one person in a country who is appointed by citizen and inaugurated by MPR. Besides as the leader of a country, a president is also a symbol of country’s administration. The chosen president and vice president have 5 years to take hold the government. As the Executive Council, president and vice president have a power to apply and operate the regulation based on the goal of their country. The vice president will continue the country’s administration if only the president resign or passed away until their time position finish.

Topic : Poem

As the part of literary work, poem is used to express both of idea and feeling into a beautiful rhyme. The author of the poem usually adds several figurative languages and symbols to express their idea beyond the words. Besides, It can show clearer description about the poem. As the reader we have to think deeply and sharply for the poem usually has indirect meaning. The author will use several common themes such as humanism, love, and religion.

Topic : History

Every activity that has already done by us is a history. In other hand, we can say that history is all activity of human life in the past, no matter it just unconscious or useless activity. Every day, hour, minute, and second we can make our own history because everything can be a history as long as we still alive. We can’t life without history, for history can help us to learn how to be a better person. We will not do the same mistakes in the past as long as we can learn seriously with our past memories. However, as a human we’re not allow to look back too much and see our history too much, just let it go and learn the positive thing from it.

How to make a good paragraph

A paragraph is a basic unit of organization in writing in which a group of related sentence develops one main idea. But do you know how to make a good paragraph? Actually making a good paragraph is easy as long as you know the component of paragraph and follow these steps. First of all you should choose one topic. It’s better if you choose the topic that you’ve already knew before and you know it clearly. Why? Because it makes you easier in developing the main idea. Second, make an outline of a paragraph that consists of topic sentence, supporting details, and concluding sentence. Topic sentence is the states of main idea of a paragraph and it also limits the topic to one or two areas that can be discussed completely in the space of a single paragraph. Supporting detail develops the topic sentence and explains it by giving reasons, examples, facts, or statistics. Besides, concluding sentence is signals of ending of paragraph and leaves the reader with important point to remember. Third, you should develop your paragraph. In developing paragraph, between one with another sentences should be parallel and related. In addition, your paragraph will be perfect if you use good transition signal, key repetition of key nouns, and use of consistent pronoun in appropriate way. That’s all that you should remind, don’t forget to make an outline and good luck!

The craziest weekend

Several months ago before my 3^rd semester began, I had a craziest weekend ever when I was an escort for university’s OSPEK. My schoolmate Fifi, Beby, Dinni and I joined that event in order to get more experiences and friends.  About 2 months before that event started, we had to join several meetings called “escort’s school” with another escorts from different faculties. During the meeting, we were taught several basic theories about university’s life. After that, we were separated into 103 groups and all of us had a partner to work together in handling about 40 new students. At that time, my partner was Noorman, a student from informatics engineering and we became a good partner. On Saturday afternoon, August 24^th 2013 was Technical Meeting before the opening of university’s OSPEK began. Around 5000 new students flocked at GOR Soesilo-Soedirman and it was the first time I handle 40 students and they were really nice.  I was happy because they obeyed with all of my commands. I felt I was the most important person for them, for; I gave much information to them. Time grew faster and we shared many things, sang a song together, screamed about our motto and finally at 5 p.m. the meeting had finished. All of new students were allowed to go home but for the escort, the committee asked us to flock at Graha Widyatama and continued to discuss about the next day. However, during the discussion, I didn’t hear all of the leader’s explanation. I just asked to my partner to hear all of it and then he would explain me back. When the leader was explaining the SOP (standard operational procedure) I just talked, laughed, and joking. My friend always talked about a boy who loved Girls Generation style and he loved to imitate them. I couldn’t stop laughing until finally all people around me looked at me. I was so shy and tried to keep silent. But, my friend started to talk about it again and made me couldn’t be controlled. Fortunately, the meeting had finish so I could back home and continued my laugh. That was the craziest weekend and I hope I could repeat that time again.

Description Paragraphs

My room

My room is quite simple and it is the only place where I can put all of my belongings. First time when someone enters my room, she/he will suppose it is a child’s room because of its decorations. I paint the wall with 3 bright colors green, yellow, and white. There are origami and glowing stickers stick around the wall, besides, I also have a little board to stick photos of my family, friend, and sticky notes. My father doesn't allow me to keep electronic tools in my room, so I don’t put anything in it. In my room, I have a bed which the mattress is covered by pink color and flowers motif with two pillows and a bolster on it. Beside my bed on the west side, there’s a green shelf. I usually put my make up tools on the top of my shelf and I put books on the other part of my shelf. Then, my window is in the south side and it faces with my family’s yard. In front of my shelf on the east side, I have a medium wardrobe with its fullest cloths. Beside the wardrobe, I take a small chair which is used to put my bags and veils. There’s no table in my room because I prefer to study on my bed than on a table. My room is the most comfortable place where I can rest my body and mind.

Living room

A living room of a villa in Pulogajah city is big and beautiful. The color of the wall is clean white and all of the stuffs are colored with gold brownish. Three set of chairs and tables are arranged neatly and fit on the right position. On the right side of this room, every chair makes a formation like a circle around the tables.  A precious lamp is on the tables which is located on the corners of this room. Besides, a wall lamp is stick on the wall near window, and the biggest one is hanging on ceiling. Several photos and two paintings also stick on the wall and make this room seems full of art. Then, we can see a big and very beautiful carpet with flowers motif on the floor of this room. Other thing that makes this room feels luxurious is a big window with big glass and a big curtain decorate the edge of window. This living room is so beautiful for its stuffs, decorations, and accessories.

Music Concert

PeeWee Gaskins band held a concert on Jakarta Convention Center last month and sang all of their song from EPILOG album. This concert started at 7 p.m. but the audiences came to JCC from afternoon. Around 16000 people included me entered the place orderly without any violence. When the performance begun, suddenly all people of this building screamed and called one by one personnel of this band started from the cutest one Dochi, Sansan, Ayi, Aldi, and Omo. During the concert, I could hear all people around me sang along together enthusiastically without felt tired. However, they were on festival areas. Furthermore, to record this unforgettable moment some people also took pictures and videos of PeeWee Gaskins’s performance. The sound systems and the lamps’s arrangement of this concert were amazing and made the situation more exciting.

The Labor Day

Every year coincide with May 1st all people around the world commemorate one important moment, that is The labor day. At may 1st 1965 for the first time, Indonesia was the host of this occasions and invited some representatives for each country to came and celebrated this moment. Around 65000 people gathered in Bung Karno’s sport stadium to hear Soekarno speech. Soekarno enthusiastically gave his best speech and furthermore it might be an inspiration for all people who listened to him. Actually this occasion was conducted as the concrete appreciation from government to laborer who already gave country’s income.

A Strange statue

Do you know one of the most amazing statues in USA? Yes the liberty statue. I think you just know a liberty statue who gripped a torch on his right hand, and a book on his left hand, and stand strongly. Different with the old one, a man made a new strange liberty’s statue successfully. The statue wears the same cloths like the statue on USA, but the differences is , the strange one isn't standing on his throne, but he is sitting and smoking a cigarette on it. Moreover, the liberty put his torch on the floor near his feet. We don’t know where his book is because there’s no book at there. The other strange thing is the strange statue seems happy and wears big shoes.

School and University

Nowadays, education is one of the most important things for people face the modern era. School and university are formal medias for them who want get formal education, information and knowledge. People can join formal school minimum 12 year’s start from elementary school, junior high school, and senior high school, besides they just need minimum 4 years to graduate from university. Teaching students for school and university is quite different especially in Indonesia. Teacher in the school seems like the second parent for student because in the school, students are their responsibility. Whenever one of a student absence or don’t join any exam or test, teacher will ask another students why she/he is absent and then asked that student to join the test. Moreover, teacher is the main object in the class who explain the subject and students have to focus on them. On the other hand, teaching students in the university is simpler than students in the school. A lecture is not the main focus in the class because sometimes there is one or two assistants who help them explain the subject. Some lectures also don’t care about students who didn’t join the class or the test. Some of them think students of university are already mature and know which is good or bad for them. The lecture doesn’t need students, but students need them.

Facebook and Twitter

I think most people in the world have known about facebook and twitter. Both of them are the most popular social media which help people to connect all people around the world. Facebook is older than twitter, but both of them can attract more than 1 million people as the user. Actually the system of these soc-med is quite similar but there are several differences word such as ”update” and “tweet” when we want share something on facebook or twitter. Facebook provides users to use some services, for example chatting media, online games, and advertisements. Twitter doesn’t provide it all but we can design our own profile based on our mind. The other advantage is almost every real artists use twitter to share everything to their fans so it makes them feel closer with fans. There are so many fake accounts of artists on facebook that can’t be believed by the users.

Novel and Short Story

As the part of literary work, novel and short story are so popular nowadays. The themes of these literary works are so variant such as love, real live, religion, etc. A short story absolutely is shorter than novel. It consists no more than 20 pages. The novelist tells their story with many details and clear explanation in order to the reader can involve to that story. Besides, the writer of a short story just tells the story shortly without too much characters and setting. A novel can consist more than one conflict, but a short story just consists of one conflict.

Free topic : Single and In relationship

Having relationship with boy or girl is something that seems exciting for some people. The world will seem beautiful if a couple is going or doing something together. Everywhere especially in the street, we can see couples ride motorcycle together and show their affection. They don’t realize that being single is more exciting. Basically, the differences between single and in relationship just on get more attention from another people except friend and family. When someone is single, they can go everywhere without any warn from other people (we don’t talk about family). Besides, sometimes people in relationship should inform to each other just to make sure that they are in some place. In addition, when a single want to hang out and buy something, they just pay it just for their self. Different with single, people in relationship should pay double for 2 people, so a single probably can safe their money. Other differences is, for some couple Saturday night is special day for them because on that night  they can have a date all night long and a single think Saturday night is as same as another night.

Examination anxiety

Almost every school start from elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, and university instead, has one requirement for each student before they pass from it, Indonesia especially. Every year before graduation moment, students which are in the end of grades have to join final examination test that held by government. This examination is not only for requirement, but also can be a standard assessment for each school, and to know how the students understand about the subject that they had learnt. Each school usually held such kind of course as the preparation before the examination to make sure that every student is ready to join it. However, not every student are ready when the examination is held. Some of them will feel scared, anxiety, un-confidence, and others say they still need more lessons.  Examination anxiety is one thing that almost every people feel and you can try some ways to make that feeling a little bit erased. First of all we should work or study hard, because knowledge is the main point that will be tested to us. Study hard make us understand the material or theory of something. Second is, we should be confident that we will success. Confident also can be spirit for us to do the best. Besides, don’t think about the result but we have to do the best and total to get one aim of our life. The last, we should pray to God that everything that happen is God’s decision and believe everything happen is being the best for us.

Overloaded final project

Almost in every university has regulation for each student to make final project before they graduate from the university. Final project is such kind of research that should do by senior students about subject that they had learnt. This research should be different from one student with another, so that’s why students should make their own research. Students can spend minimum 1 year to finish their final project, and maximum 3 years, depend on their left time in that university. Before students finish their final project, they have to do several phases start from make a research’s purpose, find the appropriate title, do some researches, and report their research to lecture. Actually final project shouldn't be the only one requirement for student before graduate from university. If every year each university graduate 1000 students, can you imagine how many final project that is made by students, and how many paper that they have spent for it? Overloaded final project isn’t a big problem actually, but I think we have to do something to solve it. Let the students choose their final project. I mean, university should make another option not only research, maybe an invention for each student. Final project will become useless after students graduate from university, so, it is better if university let them make an invention or another option that might be useful in the future. In addition, final project also waste paper too much, especially if students do so many mistakes on it. Better for us to reduce of use paper too much or waste it.

Corruption

Corruption is the most popular issue in this modern era. Simply, we can say that corruption is dishonest or illegal activity do by people in authority to get money and advantage for their self. As the #4th of the most corrupt country in world, Indonesia has so many cases about corruption. Corruption is not only can do by one people but it can do by group of people. Corruption is so dangerous and suffer financial lost for a country and its society so, this problem has to be erased. Solution for this case is each country should punish the corruptors as big as the corruptors did with their dishonesty. This way also can make other people know how terrible the corruptor’s life after they punished for their activity. Besides government should improve their regulation about corruptors and make sure that stakeholder is fair with every people.

Big Flood

In this raining season, some cities in Jakarta suffer of big flood. Flood is caused by the amount of water especially come from rain which can’t be absorb by land or it can be caused by trash or rubbish at river and then make the water can’t flow well. This disaster usually happens in a big city with big population of people. The effect of flood not only cause financial loss for each family but also can cause several diseases such as cough, influenza, itchiness, and trouble in digestive system. To solve this problem, there is a simple thing to do. Every people haven’t to throw away all kind of rubbish in the river and always keep the environment clean. The river will not filthy if people never throw anything at there, so the water can flow well without anything block away. If the river’s clean, there will no flood anymore. Moreover, the fish may be available there. Government also can take part to solve this problem such as make a regulation and punishment for people who throw rubbish at river, scratch the mud on the river in order to make river deep, and elucidate people how important the river is and keep clean for it.

1.      Opinion about death sentence for corruptor

As a development country, Indonesia is the 5^th country in the world with so many corruption cases. I agree with the government regulation about sentence for corruptor. Most of corruptors in Indonesia are a leader who is believed led them into prosperity and safe condition. They used their power and authority illegally to steal country’s money and then used it for their useless need such as luxurious car, villa, and house. Unfortunately, the law in Indonesia still can’t run fairly and it makes so many suspects of corruption cases use their money and power to make them free of prison. Death sentence not only to punish the corruptors but also erase suspect of corruption that inflict a financial loss of the country. Besides, it can minimize people who stats to corrupt the country’s money. I think before the government apply the death sentence for corruptors, they should recover their image and system first because nowadays the law holders still lack of fair.

2.      Opinion about general election

I agree with general election for one men one vote which has already applied in my country. This system is appropriate and the best way for democratic country like Indonesia which allow every single civil to choose their leader directly based on their human right. Without think about amount of money that may be used for this system, one man one vote is enabling for each citizen shows their choice. This system is used by Indonesia in order to the chosen leader is really based on citizen choice and their mind.

3.      Opinion about “CRAYON SINCHAN” movie for child

Every Sunday morning start from 5-10 p.m. almost every TV channel provide cartoon movie for children.  That time is the best time for children to watch their favorite cartoon movie but, not every cartoon is good for them especially crayon sinchan. If you ever see the cover of crayon sinchan comic, you will notice there is a warn that the comic is for 17+. It means that children who underage is not appropriate with this movie. This movie hasn’t any education value, besides, it has too much adult scene. For example, when Sinchan and his father talk about woman and see an adult magazine. For underage children who don’t know about that magazine, they maybe will feel anxious about adult magazine and farther, they will search to know about it. I think government should control the TV program especially for children and parents also should monitoring their children TV’s consumption.

International Phonetics Alphabet (IPA)

Do you know IPA ? IPA or International Phonetics Alphabet is the international standard which is used by English to show how to pronounce word correctly. Before I joined mid test in my 3^rd semester my lecture asked all students to search IPA and make it as a poster. Besides, we had to search 10 words which matched with each phonetics. In this case phonetics isn’t talk about letter, but it talks about sound. SO, what do you think so far about IPA? It seems easy, but actually it needs our sharp eyes, for, we should search that word in OXFORD/ CAMBRIDGE dictionary. Total of IPA is about 48-52 and if each phonetics need 10 words, it means you should find 480-520 words from dictionary. Simple, but bored.  Another problem came when my of corel draw’ IPA’s file couldn’t open because the type of my corel and printing office’s corel was different . Absolutely, I was really sad, confused, angry, and all of them mix together in my mind ! So, this is my final result, it didn’t seem as good as my friend’s IPA but I do it by my self without ask anyone and it makes me proud and satisfied . so,, here it is.

Ending of “Can-Can”

Have you ever read short story "can-can" ? so, what do you think about it ? I think there's something that make that story feels un finish ending. There so many possibilities with the ending especially about the wife and their child. In this case, i will try to finish the ending of Can-Can with my own perception, and still use third person of point of view, i make this story happy ending.

“Have you ever did can-can dance?” he asked to Sarah unexpectedly.

“No, I never do that awkward dance. Why ? “

He just smiled without spoke anything. He still imagined how his wife smiled and danced cheerfully, held up her skirt and kicked her legs, and his child laughed happily. He asked to himself why he never realized that the happiness of his family was coming when they laughed and did something exciting together ? He never thought what will he do if he found his wife did the same thing like him. Having a date with another man and let his children search their own happiness. Why didn’t he stayed at home, played with his children, and made the happiness of his family together?

He loved his wife and his children, just a little annoyed sometimes. He missed the times when he, his wife, and children went to zoo, had a walk, enjoyed the place , and laughed together when a monkey made his child scared and then cried. All memories about his family made him confused. Suddenly his phone was ringing , a call from his wife. She asked him to buy milk for their child after he finished his business. Then Sarah asked to him.

“Is it your wife?”                                                 

“Yes ..” He just answered shortly.

Then they started to keep silent again, but finally he decided to talk something to Sarah.

“I think I should go home now, I will accompany you back to café. Sorry, maybe this is the last for us“

During on the way to café, Sarah didn’t say anything. He knew from Sarah’s face that she was annoyed, but he thought that was the best choice. He couldn’t have a date with Sarah continuously while his wife and children expected him as a good husband and good father. He couldn’t erase the smile of his wife when she was dancing “Can-Can”, and the expression of his children when they laughed happily together.

When he arrived home, he found his wife and his child were dancing “can-can” together. He approached and then embraced them tightly. When he embraced his wife, he whispered something to her.

“I’m sorry, I love you”

Then his child asked him to wear one of mother skirt and then danced “can-can” happily together.

Akhirnyaaaa setelah lama pengin banget punya blog kesampean juga kalo niat .  Tadinya udah pernah pengen banget dibuatin blog sama mantan, tapi belum dibiikinin udah putus duluan yaudah ilang deh tuh keinginan. Tapi entah kenapa pas lagi iseng (kaya sekarang ini) tiba-tiba kepikiran lagi buat bunya blog sendiri dan nge-share apa yang aku pengin. Oke aku disini masih newbie dan belum tau banyak tentang blog itu sendiri, jadi maklumin aja ya kalo isinya rada ngaco :D

Blog ini dibuat dengan sangat sadar kok, dan berawal dari niat yang pengin banget punya wadah sendiri buat nyampein semua hal yang ingin aku bagi (soalnya kalo disimpen di komputer doang kadang kurang puas )

Terus, isi dari apa yang aku share MAUNYA sih bikinan sendiri dari aku pribadi, tapi paling ntar ujung*nya ada yang copy-paste dikit. Eh, tapi aku usahain dari pikiran aku sendiri deh :D Yang pertama kali pengin aku share itu tentang pengetahuan* dasar aja sih tergantung sama yang pernah aku denger dan alamin, dan juga hasil tugas-tugas selama menjadi mahasiswa sastra inggris di salah satu universitas negeri di purwokerto. Bahasanya ? Yaa kalo kumpulan* tugas sih udah pasti pake bahasa inggris, walopun grammar suka masih salah* gitu xD

Emm apa lagi yaa? Kayaknya udah dulu deh, masih mau belajar dikit* dulu ntar juga di share semua kok hihi see ya :)

andai saya jadi presiden ..

Presiden, mungkin untuk sebagian orang berpendapat itu adalah jabatan paling tinggi dan paling mulia dan paling menghasilkan banyak uang . Hampir setiap orang bermimpi untuk menduduki jabatan ini, padahal di dalam jabatan ini sangat banyak resiko dan tanggung jawab yang harus ditanggung oleh seorang presiden. Baik buruknya suatu negara-pun dapat dilihat dari cara kerja presiden dalam  mengatur pemerintahannya. Andai saya menjadi presiden, ada tiga hal yang saya ingin perbaiki di dalam pemerintahan demi terwujudnya masyarakat Indonesia yang makmur dan sejahtera.

Andaikan saya menjadi presiden , yang pertama kali akan saya benahi adalah ketenaga-kerjaan di Indonesia. Seperti yang kita ketahui, Indonesia adalah salah satu negara berkembang di Asia Tenggara dengan jumlah populasi mencapai 259.9 juta jiwa, tetapi  jumlah lapangan pekerjaannya sangat terbatas. Masyarakat Indonesia sangat membutuhkan lapangan pekerjaan yang bisa menampung banyak orang sebagai pekerja. Menurut saya, yang membuat Indonesia menjadi negara yang “menyedihkan” adalah karena masyarakat tidak dapat terpenuhi kebutuhannya dan pemerintah tidak dapat memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat. Masyarakat tidak dapat terpenuhi kebutuhannya karena mereka tidak mempunyai pekerjaan yang bisa menghasilakan uang yang cukup untuk membeli kebutuhannya. Taraf hidup yang semakin tinggi terutama di daerah metropolitan seperti Jakarta membuat rakyat semakin kesulitan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan yang tidak sebanding dengan penghasilan yang mereka dapatkan sehari-hari. Contoh nyata dalam kehidupan di Indonesia adalah semakin banyak pemulung, pengemis, dan tuna wisma yang hidup terlantar di jalanan. Padahal dalam UUD 1945 sudah tertulis bahwa fakir miskin dan anak-anak terlantar dipelihara oleh negara, namun kenyataanya TIDAK ! Pemerintah seharusnya memberi kesempatan kepada para fakir miskin agar mereka mendapat pekerjaan yang layak dan tidak lagi mengemis di jalanan. Ini adalah cara pertama untuk memperbaiki kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia.

Hal kedua yang akan saya lakukan saat saya menjadi presiden adalah perbaikan di bidang pendidikan. Ketertinggalan indosesia dibanding negara lain di Asia adalah karena teknologi yang belum berkembang pesat. Ketertinggalan ini tidak dapat dipungkiri dikarenakan oleh pendidikan di Indonesia yang belum bisa seperti di negara lain. Jika dibanding dengan negara lain, pemerintah benar-benar memfasilitasi rakyatnya di bidang pendidikan sehingga teknologi dan penemuan-penemuan baru pun dapat berkembang dengan pesat. Sangat berbeda dengan Indonesia, jumlah sekolah yang terbatas di daerah-daerah terpencil mempersulit generasi-generasi muda dalam mencapai mimpinya. Selain itu keterbatasan fasilitas di setiap sekolah juga mempengaruhi kualitas siswa di setiap daerah. Sudah sepantasnya pemerintah melakukan pemerataan pendidikan di setiap daerah sehingga tidak terjadi ketertinggalan pendidikan . Disamping itu biaya pendidikan juga harus dipertimbangkan lagi oleh pemerintah. Jika pemerintah ingin masyarakatnya berkualitas, tentunya hal ini juga harus didukung dengan kebijakan pemerintah untuk menurunkan biaya pendidikan.

Hal terakhir yang akan saya benahi jika saya seorang presiden yang juga sama pentingnya seperti hal-hal sebelumnya adalah masalah korupsi yang sudah sangat meraja-lela di indonensia. Beberapa waktu yang lalu saya sempat membaca sebuah koran yang menyebutkan bahwa Indonesia menduduki peringkat ke-5 sebagai negara ter-korup di dunia, angka yang sangat mengejutkan untuk sebuah negara berkembang. Berbagai kasus yang muncul beberapa waktu ini seperti korupsi pengadaan wisma atelit, korupsi daging impor, dan kasus kasus lain mencoreng nama Indonesia di bidang perekonomian dunia. Para pemimpin yang seharusnya menjadi perantara aspirasi rakyat dalam pembuatan kebijakan  ternyata menyalahgunakan kekuasaannya demi kepentingan pribadi. Bagaimana jadinya Indonesia jika kasus-kasus korupsi ini dibiarkan begitu saja? Tentu masalah ini semakin mempersulit rakyat untuk mewujudkan kesejahteraannya dan memperbaiki kehidupan perekonomiannya. Hukum yang sudah dibuat bahkan bisa dibeli dengan uang, lalu apa yang dimaksud dengan keadilan ? Sangat memeprihatinkan memang. Maka dari itu andaikan saya menjadi presiden, saya tidak akan membiarkan kasus-kasus korupsi sekecil apapun berkembang, dan peraturan tetap peraturan tidak dapat dibeli dengan apapun seta memberi sanksi tegas terhadap pelanggarnya

Orientasi Studi dan Pengenalan Kampus (OSPEK)

Orientasi Studi dan Pengenalan Kampus atau biasa disebut sebagai OSPEK adalah suatu kegiatan yang wajib diikuti oleh seluruh siswa baru saat memasuki dunia baru di dalam lingkungan universitas. Perubahan status yang tadinya siswa menjadi mahasiswa tentu saja juga didukung dengan perubahan lingkungan dan pemikiran . Ospek merupakan kegiatan yang sangat bermanfaat bagi mahasiswa baru karena acara ini merupakan jejak awal untuk pementukan watak dan kepribadian untuk mahasiswa baru. Tujuan ospek adalah untuk mengenalkan dan memahami lingkungan kampus dan aturan – aturan yang berjalan di dalamnya, serta memberikan pemahaman awal tentang apa sebenarnya tugas mahasiswa dan perannya di dalam masyarakat. Jadi dengan kata lain, kepribadian yang tercermin pada diri mahasiswa ditentukan dengan baik buruknya kegiatan ospek ini.

Dalam penyusunan rangkaian ospek itu sebenarnya juga sangat bergantung pada panitia kegiatan itu , namun hal ini juga tergantung antusias dan pandangan dari setiap orang yang mengikuti kegiatan tersebut. Kejenuhan dan kejengkelan yang dirasakan mahasiswa baru sebenarnya dapat diperkecil dengan acara- acara yang menghibur mahasiswa baru, jadi tidak hanya materi – materi saja namun bisa ditambahkan dengan hiburan atau games yang bisa diikuti oleh para mahasiswa baru ini. Memang hal ini mungkin akan terasa sedikit sulit ketika suatu  kegiatan diikuti oleh ribuan mahasiswa baru dan harus mencari hiburan yang bisa dirasakan oleh keseluruhan peserta. Semakin kreatif panitia, maka semakin sukses pula kegiatan ini karena hal ini akan membuat peserta krasan dan nyaman. Penyusunan kegiatan ini memang harus diperbincangkan jauh-jauh hari sebelum kegiatan dimulai. Hal ini dikarenakan kegiatan ini adalah kegiatan ini tidak hanya diikuti oleh mahasiswa baru saja tetapi juga oleh petinggi – petinggi dari universitas serta pengisi materi pada acara tersebut. Selain itu, persiapan pendamping dalam ospek juga haru sangat diperhatikan karena mereka lah yang mendampingi dan mengarahkan peserta didik baru. Biasanya dalam suatu kegiatan orientasi ini akan dibagi beberapa kelompok tergantung dengan jumlah mahasiswa yang masuk pada suatu perguruan tinggi dan sebaiknya jumlah dari sebuah kelompok tidak terlalu banyak karena itu akan mempersulit pendamping dalam mengawasi dan mengarahkan mereka untuk persiapan kegiatan ini.

Sebagai mantan mahasiswa baru di tahun 2012, saya merasa bahwa kegiatan ospek sangat bermanfaat untuk saya terutama mengetahui sedikit banyak tentang dunia kampus. Selain itu, saya juga mendapatkan banyak teman dan pengalaman selama kegiatan ini. Para moderator yang mengisi dalam kegiatan ospek tahun lalu juga merupakan orang - orang penting yang membagikan pengalaman serta tips – tips agar menjadi orang sukses. Selama dua hari saya mendapat banyak sekali pengalaman dan pengetahuan, namun yang sedikit saya sesalkan adalah kegiatan yang sebagian besar pidato berjam-jam . Sebenarnya hal ini sangat baik untuk menambah pengetahuan, tapi ketika saya dan ribuan pesarta lain mendengarkan pidato yang terlalu lama, saya merasakan kejenuhan . Menurut pengalaman saya, saya melihat sebagian besar mahasiswa yang mengikuti kegiatan ini terutama yang duduk di kabin atas mereka cenderung untuk berbicara sendiri, bahkan ada juga yang tidur. Mungkin ini adalah salah satu efek dari pidato yang terlalu lama sehingga saya dan sebagian mahasiswa yang lain merasa sedikit jenuh dan mencari kegiatan lain untuk menghilangkan kejenuhan. Saya berharap di kegiatan ospek tahun ini kegiatan tidak terlalu monoton, dan paling tidak akan ada hiburan kecil di sela-sela perpindahan jadwal pidato dari seorang pembicara dan pembicara selanjutnya.

Ospek merupakan kegiatan yang sangat penting sebagai titik awal seorang siswa menjadi mahasiswa yang seharusnya bisa membentuk kepribadian dan watak . Kegiatan ini akan terasa lebih baik oleh para peserta baru selama kegiatan ini tidak monoton dan membuat kejenuhan, maka dari itu disinilah tugas seorang panitia untuk membentuk rangkaian acara se-kreatif mungkin.
